Its been years since the last time we ate here. They improved the quality and premiumness of the food signifantly and we enjoyed the food so much. The fish skin is the best. And the meat and the soup are also nice. Sautee misoa is also the dish that you have to ordered. They provided ice crush also as closing which is a nice touch
Have always been curious about chong qing, and we tried calling the one in GS but there was a waiting list of 6 tables, so we were quite surprised when the BSD branch was not full considering it was Valentines day. We ordered the 2 pax exclusive weekdays package (438k)+ 2 rice (12k x 2), with tax & service charge adding up to 545k. The portions are nice and we were verryyyy full at the end of the meal. The package consisted: - soup (we can choose 1 or 2 from 4 selections: chicken, prawn, laksa, mala) We picked tiger prawn + chicken bone broth - noodle - beef rib eye - cabbage - Meatball and prawn ball - Wonton Overall enak kuah and package nya. Banyak condiments juga. The ambience was nice.
We opted for the chicken broth as the base and it was very flavourful. Such a hearty and warming soup. The meat selection was also great - we had a mix of beef and seafood. The fried bean curd was an absolute delight. Their signature fried rice was also very flavourful. Bonus points for attentive service and beautiful ethnic ambience!
The food here is always amazing, but the service needs serious improvement. The staff are kind and warm, but I had a frustrating experience during my visit. I came with my baby and toddler, and upon arrival, I saw an available table. However, the staff told me there were no tables and that I needed to waitlist—perhaps the table was reserved. We waited, but no one called us, even when the table became available. I had to check back myself and only then were we seated. Even after we sat down, no one came to provide menus or take our order. We waited around 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When they finally did, they forgot to explain the menu and even forgot to bring the noodle basket. I don’t know what was happening because they seemed attentive to other tables. It was so disappointing. I’ll just move to another branch where they actually stick to their SOP.
The restaurant has such a great ambience. It is very clean too. The waiters and waitresses have good attitude too. They are kind and are very fast respond. It is a good place to treat clients or having lunch or dinner with friends and family.
