Nasi Goreng Jadoel, just like my late mom used to made for us :( We ordered for Nasi Goreng, Soto Betawi, Bir pletok with ice cream and Teh Es Sereh. The atmosphere also just like my late parents home :( plus historic things. It's nice place to think about what our purposes of life being here :). Parking area : no parking area :D but you will survive ..

This is a legendary dutch colonial restaurant in Cideng, Central Jakarta area, that recently moved to Bintaro. They just moved in August 2024, so only 2 months ago. Service was sloppy and they seems not ready to open yet. Lots of colonial memorabilia which makes the place unique. AC was inadequate so the place was quite hot. Even the table was dirty. Needs a lot of maintenance but owner doesn't seems to care about it. We ordered: - Ayam Boemboe Rempah Good, unique, undescribable interesting flavour that I never tried anywhere else. - Chicken Steak The steak was juicy and delicious. - Chicken Schnitzel This was also delicious with the right seasoning. - Poffertjes Passer Gambir Light and fluffy made with quality butter. Super good. Overall verdict: the food was okay, price wise was quite affordable but service was unenthusiastic.

Place is very unique with older style of Javanese Dutch home converted into a restaurant. If you could, get the 2nd floor seating as it is a bit cooler compared to the 1st floor area, which has 2 tables. 1st floor is without AC and the room is a bit dark. Now is Food. The price is considered very affordable. Today we have 5 out of 7 appetizer menu are not available. 1. Insulide Pastel is 8/10. Very tasty but must be enjoyed while its hot. 2. Makaroni Keju is 7/10. The cheese is not too aromatic. 3. Jardiniere is 7/10. Size is abundant for the side dish. The sauce is ordinary. My remark on the food plating, the chef is putting nice effort to food arraignment. Please expect slow service as there is only 1 waiter and 1 barista. This place has a nice opportunity to be famous and be better at service. The management should be transformed professionally. For VIP rsvp or arrangement, at this moment would be tough. Limited man power, slower kitchen, and missed order would be challenging. Hope that this heritage place would be thriving and get better.

A very beautiful vintage restaurant. Eating here feels like going back in time to the colonial era. Pros - Great ambience - Great music playlist - Full AC non smoking room in 2nd floor Cons - A very slow service. The restaurant should be open at 11am according to Google, but when I arrive at 11am, I have to wait in a very hot first floor lobby for 30 mins before I can go to the second floor - The taste of the food is nothing special, kinda “meh” to be honest. The waiter recommend me this steak (look at pictures below cause I forgot the name), but it doesn’t taste that good. The meat is kinda overcooked and hard to chew. The lemongrass tea doesn’t have any taste, just like water. The klappertaart is not bad though.

Definitely a hidden gem in the middle of a bustling city. Parking will be a challenge, but not a problem. The ambiance is amazing if you love classic dutch interiors (would definitely recommend eating during day time to bring out the character of the interior). The food is classic dutch food (yes, the owner still cooks. So you can taste the passion in her cooking). We had the bitterballen (nice and smooth with good mustard), bistik djawa (great taste), cordon bleu (great value, only 65 thousand with generous portions) and the ice cream poffertjes (great dessert). The waiter is very kind. Loves to share interesting stories and extremely helpful in taking pictures. Fyi please don't forget to tip the guy. He deserves it because the service charge is not included in the bill.
